Peter’s practice focuses on criminal defense and civil litigation.

In his criminal practice Peter has obtained trial acquittals for accused clients in federal and state courts. In addition to his traditional criminal defense practice, Peter has represented numerous professionals—including attorneys, nurses, doctors and law enforcement— facing disciplinary action from their licensing boards. Peter has also successfully represented college students facing expulsion for violating university student conduct codes.

Peter’s civil practice focuses on plaintiff’s personal injury cases, business litigation, and civil forfeiture. His civil practice includes work in state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate levels.

Peter is a proud member of the District of Montana’s Criminal Justice Act Panel, where he provides federal criminal defense services to indigent defendants. Peter was trained at and tried cases for the Colorado Public Defender’s Office and worked in the law school’s criminal defense clinic.
